There are two classifications of Electrical License in Georgia excluding Low Voltage which is 50 volts or less. A restricted electrical license applies to 200 amp single phase residential only, while a unrestricted license applies to all other classifications excluding Low Voltage. You must first be approved to take the exam by the Georgia Construction Industry License Board. Four years of experience is required. Both Primary & secondary experience may be used to satisfy the four year minimum. All the specifics for experience can be found in the Georgia Candidate Information Package. A candidate information package may be downloaded from the Secreatry of State Website(sos.ga). Also included is an Application form & Examination application form. Both must be completed & submitted to the Construction Industry License Board no later that 40 days prior to the examination date. Code Connection offers a Electrical Examination Preparation course quaterly. See my website codeconnection.com for a complete 2004 schedule. Hope this answers your questions, if not give me a call.
