Low Voltage contracting in Georgia requires a Low Voltage License. Low Voltage is classified as 50 volts or less. There are four classifications of Low Voltage License. LVG, General, LVA Alarm, LVT Telecommunications, & LVU Unrestricted. A candidate to take either of the exams must first be approved by the Construction Industry License Board. One year of experience is required. You may download a Candidate Information Package from the Georgia Secretary of State Website (sos.state.ga.us) or call the Construction Industry License Board at (478) 207-1416. Contained within the Candidate information package in an Application for a Low Voltage Contractors License & Examination Scheduling form that must be completed & forwarded to the appropriate agencies 40 days prior to the exam date.
